To the pain that lingers is a work that highlights our irrational behaviours when human relationships hurt us. It is a visual melody that aims to bring us together through a poetic staging of our daily battles. Virginie Brunelle on A la douleur que j’ai: ‘Pain has many faces. In this case, I want to explore the pain that is left lingering in our memories. How ties to others are never completely severed; how emotional pain leaves traces, sediments and scars.’
