“A stunning spectacle” – The New York Times

Faso Danse Théâtre | Serge Aimé Coulibaly & Rokia Traoré can be seen with KIRINA from 17 February in Utrecht, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Bruges

For Kirina, choreographer Serge Aimé Coulibaly was inspired by “The Battle of Kirina” in present-day Guinea, which created the Mandinka empire. For West Africa, that battle is just as mythical as the Battle of Waterloo for us. At the intersection of fiction and history, Kirina is about a people who hopefully and rebelliously look for their destination.

GN | MC – Time Takes The Time Time Takes

Guy Nader and Maria Campos will be touring through Belgium and the Netherlands starting Saturday 8 February with Time Takes The Time Time Takes

The performance of Guy Nader and Maria Campos reflects the cyclical mechanism of time, with the dancers as a human perpetuum mobile. Measured movements and repetitions with a swinging pendulum movement show how people always live in the grip of time. TTTTTT is a physical challenge for the five dancers. On electronic (live) music by Miguel Marin a performance is created that “imaginatively, close to the body and precisely, describes the phenomenon of time” (tanznetz.de).
